Some of these saints obviously have multiple categories. For instance, St. Olympias could be labeled as a martyr or even a confessor and was also widowed. St. Clotilda is also a holy widow whose life was a lived martyrdom. St. Etheldreda was widowed from her first husband and was a Princess of England. St. Ignatius of Antioch was also martyred. Blessed Margaret of Lorraine was a duchess before becoming a nun. Etc. The saints exceed us in virtue and we are called to emulate their lives. The fact that we don't shows how far we are from God. May we all seek their wisdom and virtue.
